Marlo Thomas is an American actress, producer, author, and social activist. She is best known for her starring role on the sitcom That Girl (1966–1971) and her award-winning feminist children's franchise Free to Be... You and Me. She has also appeared in numerous films and television shows, including Friends, The Golden Girls, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Thomas is the daughter of comedian Danny Thomas and has been married to talk show host Phil Donahue since 1980.
