Theban King is a term used to refer to three characters from Greek mythology: Creon, Oedipus, and Pentheus. Creon was the brother of Oedipus' mother Jocasta and the uncle of Oedipus. He became the King of Thebes after Oedipus' exile. Oedipus was the son of Laius and Jocasta, who unknowingly killed his father and married his mother. He was the King of Thebes before his exile. Pentheus was the grandson of Cadmus, the founder of Thebes, and the son of Echion and Agave. He was the King of Thebes after Oedipus' exile and before Creon's reign.
