The Waltz King is a nickname given to the Austrian composer Johann Strauss II. He was born in Vienna in 1825 and is best known for his waltzes, polkas, and operettas. His most famous works include 'The Blue Danube' and 'On the Beautiful Blue Danube'. He was also the leader of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra from 1844 to 1860. Strauss died in 1899 and is remembered as one of the greatest composers of the 19th century.
