The Sound of Music Quintet won six Oscars in 1965, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Film Editing, and Best Sound. The film was based on the 1959 Broadway musical of the same name, which was inspired by the real-life story of the Von Trapp Family Singers. The movie starred Julie Andrews as Maria, Christopher Plummer as Captain von Trapp, and a five-person singing group known as the Von Trapp Children.
