The Scribe is a term used to refer to Ezra, a Jewish priest and scribe who lived in the 5th century BCE. He was a member of the tribe of Levi and was responsible for the collection and editing of the Hebrew Bible. He is credited with establishing the Great Assembly, a council of 120 scribes and priests that served as a religious and political authority in ancient Israel.
