The Caine Mutiny is a 1954 American drama film directed by Edward Dmytryk and starring Humphrey Bogart. The film is based on the 1951 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name by Herman Wouk. It tells the story of a US Navy officer who is court-martialed for relieving his commanding officer of duty during a typhoon. The film was nominated for eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor in a Leading Role for Bogart, and Best Adapted Screenplay.
