The Morning Watch author is James AGEE, a four-letter word. AGEE was an American novelist, poet, screenwriter, journalist, and film critic. He is best known for his autobiographical novel, A Death in the Family, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1958. He also wrote the screenplay for The African Queen, which was nominated for an Academy Award. AGEE's other works include Let Us Now Praise Famous Men, a book about sharecroppers in the South during the Great Depression, and The Morning Watch, a collection of short stories.
