The Mets' old home is Shea Stadium, which was the home of the New York Mets from 1964 to 2008. It was located in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in Queens, New York City. The stadium was named after William A. Shea, a New York City lawyer who was instrumental in bringing National League baseball back to the city. It was demolished in 2009 and replaced by Citi Field.
