The Magnificent SEVEN is a 1960 western film directed by John Sturges and starring Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Robert Vaughn, Brad Dexter, James Coburn, and Horst Buchholz. The film follows SEVEN American gunmen who are hired to protect a small Mexican village from a group of bandits. The film was a remake of Akira Kurosawa's 1954 Japanese film SEVEN Samurai. The two main characters in the film are Chris Adams (Yul Brynner) and Bernardo O'Reilly (Charles Bronson). The other five members of the Magnificent SEVEN are Vin Tanner (Steve McQueen), Britt (Robert Vaughn), Harry Luck (Brad Dexter), Lee (James Coburn), and Chico (Horst Buchholz). The character Lorenzo is a Mexican peasant who joins the Magnificent SEVEN in their fight against the bandits.
