He is aided by his loyal friend Samwise Gamgee and the wizard Gandalf. The Lord of the Rings character STRIDER is the alias of Aragorn, a Ranger of the North and heir to the throne of Gondor. He joins Frodo on his quest and helps him in his mission to destroy the One Ring.
