The Family Circus cartoonist Bil Keane was an American cartoonist best known for his single-panel comic strip The Family Circus, which he created in 1960 and continued to draw until his death in 2011. He was also the creator of the comic strips 'Channel Chuckles' and 'Family Tree'. His work was syndicated in more than 1, 500 newspapers and was read by millions of people around the world. He was awarded the National Cartoonists Society's Reuben Award in 1964 and was inducted into the Society's Hall of Fame in 2002.
