Chaim Potok was an American novelist and rabbi. He is best known for his novel 'The Chosen', which was published in 1967. The novel tells the story of two Jewish boys growing up in Brooklyn, New York during World War II. Potok's other works include 'My Name is Asher Lev' and 'The Promise'. He was a prolific writer, having written more than 20 books in his lifetime. Potok passed away in 2002 at the age of 73.
