The Altar Constellation is a small constellation located in the southern sky. It is represented by the letter ARA and is bordered by the constellations Ara, Norma, Telescopium, and Triangulum Australe. The constellation was first catalogued by the Greek astronomer Ptolemy in the 2nd century. It contains two stars with known planets and several deep-sky objects, including the open cluster NGC 6193.
