Monica Seles is a former professional tennis player from Yugoslavia who won nine Grand Slam singles titles. She was the youngest ever French Open champion at the age of 16 in 1990 and is considered one of the greatest female tennis players of all time. Seles was the world's number one ranked player in 1991 and 1992 before being stabbed by an obsessed fan during a match in 1993. She returned to the tour in 1995 and won her last Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in 1996.
