A Telegraph Operator, also known as a Telegraphist, is a person who operates a telegraph machine to send and receive messages. They are responsible for encoding and decoding messages using Morse code, as well as ensuring the accuracy of the messages. Telegraph Operators have been used since the mid-1800s to communicate over long distances, and were an important part of communication during both World Wars.
