The Thylacine, also known as the Tasmanian Wolf, was a carnivorous marsupial native to Australia and New Guinea. It was the largest known carnivorous marsupial of modern times and is believed to have become extinct in the 20th century. It had a pouch like other marsupials, but also had distinctive stripes across its back. It was an apex predator, preying on wallabies, birds, and small mammals.
