Ian Thorpe is an Australian swimmer who is considered one of the greatest swimmers of all time. He won five Olympic gold medals, three silver medals, and one bronze medal in his career. He also set numerous world records and was the first person to swim the 400m freestyle in under four minutes. Thorpe retired from competitive swimming in 2012 and is now a television presenter and philanthropist.
