The term SWEAT SOURCE is composed of two words, PORE and GLAND. Pores are tiny openings in the skin that allow sweat to escape from the body. Sweat glands, also known as sudoriferous glands, are responsible for producing sweat. Sweat is a mixture of water, salts, and other substances that helps regulate body temperature. Sweat glands are located all over the body, but are most concentrated in the armpits, palms, and soles of the feet.
