Bram Stoker was an Irish author best known for his 1897 Gothic novel, 'Dracula'. He was born in Dublin in 1847 and worked as a civil servant and a theater critic before becoming a full-time writer. Stoker wrote several other horror novels, including 'The Lair of the White Worm' and 'The Jewel of Seven Stars'. He also wrote non-fiction works, such as 'Personal Reminiscences of Henry Irving' and 'Famous Imposters'. Stoker died in 1912 at the age of 64.
