The International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) is a labor union representing dockworkers, or stevedores, in the United States and Canada. It was founded in 1892 and is one of the oldest labor unions in North America. The ILA negotiates collective bargaining agreements with employers, provides legal representation for members, and lobbies for better working conditions and wages. The organization also provides educational and training opportunities for its members.
