The term STEAM ROOM is a combination of two words, SAUNA and STEAM. A SAUNA is a small room or house designed as a place to experience dry or wet heat sessions, or an establishment with one or more of these facilities. A STEAM room is a room where STEAM is generated from boiling water, usually for the purpose of relaxation or detoxification. Both saunas and STEAM rooms are used for therapeutic purposes, such as relieving stress, improving circulation, and providing relief from muscle pain.
