The term SQUID RELATIVE refers to two sea creatures, the OCTOPUS and the CUTTLEFISH. Both are cephalopods, a group of marine animals that have a distinct head, bilateral symmetry, and a shell or vestigial shell. The OCTOPUS is a seven-letter word and the CUTTLEFISH is a ten-letter word. They are both related to the squid, another cephalopod, and share many of the same characteristics. Octopuses and CUTTLEFISH have eight arms, two eyes, and a beak-like mouth. They also have a unique ability to change color and texture to blend in with their environment.
