The Soviet Revolution was a period of political and social upheaval in Russia that began in 1917 with the overthrow of the Tsarist autocracy and ended in 1923 with the establishment of the Soviet Union. The leader of the revolution was Vladimir Lenin, who was a Marxist revolutionary and the founder of the Russian Communist Party. He was instrumental in leading the Bolsheviks to power and in establishing the Soviet Union.
