The Soviet Premier Joseph was Joseph Stalin, who was a Soviet revolutionary and politician. He served as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1922 until his death in 1953. During his rule, he transformed the Soviet Union into a one-party Marxist–Leninist state and oversaw the industrialization of the country. He also implemented collectivization of agriculture and initiated the Great Purge, a campaign to eliminate political opposition.
