TASS, or the Telegraph Agency of the Soviet Union, was a major news agency in the Soviet Union from 1925 to 1991. It was the official state-run media organization and was responsible for distributing news and information to newspapers, radio, and television channels. TASS was also responsible for providing international news coverage and was one of the largest news agencies in the world during the Cold War.
