Irma Thomas is an American soul singer from New Orleans, Louisiana. She is often referred to as the 'Soul Queen of New Orleans'. She began her career in the early 1960s and has released over two dozen albums since then. Her most successful single was 'Time Is on My Side', which was later covered by The Rolling Stones. She has been inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame and the Blues Hall of Fame.
