Leona Mitchell is an American soprano singer who has had a long and successful career. She is best known for her performances of the works of Giacomo Puccini, particularly the role of Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly. She has also performed in operas by Verdi, Mozart, and other composers. Mitchell has been honored with numerous awards, including a Grammy Award for Best Classical Vocal Performance in 1985.
