Somnambulism, also known as SLEEPWALKING, is a sleep disorder in which a person gets up and walks around while still asleep. It is a parasomnia, a type of sleep disorder characterized by abnormal movements, behaviors, emotions, perceptions, and dreams that occur while falling asleep, sleeping, between sleep stages, or during arousal from sleep. Symptoms of somnambulism can range from simply sitting up in bed and looking around to walking around the house and even leaving the house.
