SOME ALGONQUIANS refers to two distinct groups of Native Americans, the Crees and the Miamis. The Crees are a group of Algonquian-speaking peoples who live in northern Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and parts of British Columbia. The Miamis are a group of Algonquian-speaking peoples who live in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. Both groups have a long history of living in the Great Lakes region and have had a significant impact on the culture and history of the area.
