Solon was an Athenian statesman, LAWMAKER, and LAWGIVER who lived in the 6th century BC. He is often referred to as the 'SAGE of Athens' due to his wisdom and foresight. He was also a prominent SENATOR and is credited with creating the first written constitution of Athens. He is remembered for his reforms which included the abolition of debt slavery and the establishment of a more equitable legal system. He is also known for his efforts to reduce the power of the aristocracy and increase the rights of the lower classes.
