A DELL is a small, secluded, and often wooded hollow. A DENE is a narrow, steep-sided valley with a stream running through it. A GLEN is a narrow valley between hills or mountains. A DALE is a broad valley, usually with a river running through it. A COULEE is a deep, narrow RAVINE with steep sides. Finally, a RAVINE is a deep, steep-sided valley with a stream running through it.
