Inchworms are small hairless caterpillars that belong to the family Geometridae. They are also known as measuring worms because of their characteristic looping gait, which makes them appear to be measuring the earth as they move. Inchworms feed on a variety of plants and can be found in gardens, forests, and other areas with vegetation. They are usually green or brown in color and can reach up to two inches in length.
