Slammin' Sammy is a nickname given to two professional golfers, Sam Snead and Sammy Sosa. Snead was an American golfer who won seven major championships and 82 PGA Tour events in his career. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974. Sosa was a Dominican-American former professional baseball right fielder who played for four Major League Baseball teams from 1989 to 2007. He was a six-time All-Star and hit 609 home runs during his career. Both Snead and Sosa were known for their powerful swings, earning them the nickname 'Slammin' Sammy'.
