Skiing maneuvers are techniques used by skiers to navigate the slopes. The most common skiing maneuvers include SCHUSS, a straight downhill run with the skis parallel; Telemark, a turn in which the skier bends one knee and the other leg is extended behind; ESS, a technique used to slow down or stop while skiing; Snowplow, a maneuver in which the skier points the tips of the skis inward to slow down or stop; and Stenmark, a turn in which the skier turns both skis in the same direction.
