Ernest Tubb was an American country music singer and songwriter from Texas. He is best known for his 1948 hit 'Walking the Floor Over You' and is considered one of the pioneers of country music. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1965 and was posthumously inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970. He was also known as the 'Texas Troubadour' and was a major influence on other country singers such as Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, and George Jones.
