Ric Ocasek was a singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He was the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and songwriter for the rock band The Cars. Ocasek was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He was known for his distinctive voice and offbeat lyrics. He released several solo albums throughout his career, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Cars in 2018.
