Anita O'DAY was an American jazz singer and one of the most influential vocalists of the 20th century. She was known for her improvisational scat singing and her unique phrasing. She was also a member of the 'Four Girls' group, which included Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Sarah Vaughan. O'DAY's career spanned over five decades and she released over 50 albums. She was inducted into the Down Beat Jazz Hall of Fame in 1997.
