Lesley Gore was an American singer, songwriter, actress, and activist. She is best known for her 1963 pop hit 'It's My Party', which she followed up with other hits such as 'Judy's Turn to Cry' and 'You Don't Own Me'. Gore also wrote and performed the theme song for the 1980s television show Fame. She was a strong advocate for LGBTQ rights and was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame in 2014.
