The Shoshone Indians, also known as the Utes, are a Native American tribe that traditionally lived in the Great Basin region of the United States. They were nomadic hunter-gatherers who moved seasonally to follow food sources. The Shoshone language is part of the Numic branch of the Uto-Aztecan language family. Today, the Shoshone people are spread across the western United States and Canada.
