A shoreline feature is a geographical feature that is found along the shore of a body of water. The three most common shoreline features are coves, inlets, and capes. A COVE is a small, sheltered bay that is usually found along the coast of a larger body of water. An INLET is a narrow body of water that connects a larger body of water to a smaller one. Lastly, a CAPE is a piece of land that extends out into a body of water, often forming a headland or promontory.
