Nacre, also known as mother of pearl, is a shiny material made from calcium carbonate and conchiolin that is often used to make buttons. It is formed by mollusks as a protective coating on the inside of their shells and is composed of microscopic crystals arranged in a lattice-like structure. NACRE is highly durable and has been used for centuries to make jewelry, buttons, and other decorative items.
