Sex cells, also known as GAMETES, are the reproductive cells in both males and females. They are formed through a process called meiosis, which is a type of cell division that produces four daughter cells from one parent cell. In humans, the sex cells are the ovum (OVA) in females and the sperm in males. OVA are the larger of the two sex cells and contain the female's genetic material, while sperm are smaller and contain the male's genetic material. Together, these two sex cells combine to form a new individual.
