Sebastian Explorer is a reference to the Italian explorer John Cabot, who was also known as Giovanni Caboto. He is credited with discovering North America in 1497, and his explorations were funded by King Henry VII of England. Cabot's first voyage was in 1496, and he sailed from Bristol, England, to Newfoundland, Canada. He is remembered for his pioneering exploration of the New World and his contribution to the Age of Discovery.
