Utica is the seat of Oneida County, located in the state of New York. It is the tenth most populous city in the state and the second largest city in the Central New York region. Utica has a rich history, having been founded in 1798 by the American Revolutionary War General, John Butler. It is known for its many cultural attractions, such as the Stanley Theater, the Utica Zoo, and the Utica Memorial Auditorium. Utica is also home to several colleges and universities, including Utica College and Mohawk Valley Community College.
