Edward Albee was an American playwright known for his works in the theatre of the absurd. He is best known for his play 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?', which won the 1963 Tony Award for Best Play. Albee was also a three-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1986. He wrote several plays about the sea, including 'The Sea Gull', 'The Sandbox', and 'SEASCAPE'.
