The ARAL Sea is a shrinking body of water located in Central Asia. It was once the world's fourth-largest lake, but due to human mismanagement of its resources, it has been steadily shrinking since the 1960s. The ARAL Sea has now split into two separate bodies of water, with the northern part being much smaller than the southern part. The ARAL Sea is now considered an environmental disaster, and its water levels continue to drop.
