Scrooge, at first, is best known as a MISER and sneerer. He is the main character in Charles Dickens' 1843 novella 'A Christmas Carol'. Scrooge is a cold-hearted, tight-fisted, and greedy man who despises Christmas and all things which give people happiness. He is often seen as a symbol of greed and selfishness. His miserly ways are contrasted with the joy and goodwill of the other characters in the story.
