The Screen Actors GUILD (SAG) is a labor union representing over 160, 000 film and television performers worldwide. It was founded in 1933 to protect the rights of actors and to ensure fair wages and working conditions. The SAG negotiates and administers collective bargaining agreements that set basic minimum compensation levels for its members. It also provides health and pension benefits, as well as other services to its members.
