The Scottish Flag, also known as the Saltire, is a white cross on a blue background. It is the national flag of Scotland and is one of the oldest flags in the world, having been used since the 12th century. The Saltire is said to have originated when King Angus II of Scotland saw a white cross in the sky before a battle against the Northumbrians in 832 AD. The Saltire is now a symbol of Scotland's national identity and is flown proudly throughout the country.
