The term Scandinavian language refers to a group of languages spoken in the Scandinavian region of Northern Europe. This includes Faeroese, which is an official language of the Faroe Islands; NORSE, which is an extinct North Germanic language; NORWEGIAN, which is a North Germanic language spoken mainly in Norway; Swedish, which is a North Germanic language spoken mainly in Sweden; SAMI, which is a Uralic language spoken by the SAMI people in parts of Finland, Sweden, and Norway; and DANISH, which is a North Germanic language spoken mainly in Denmark.
